About Friends of Hartsville Memorial Library

The Friends of Hartsville Memorial Library is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the library and the programs that make it an important part of our community.

Through annual memberships, fundraising events, and the generosity of our supporters, the Friends help provide resources and opportunities for library patrons of all ages. We help fund year-round children’s programming, the adult book club and activities, Community Sharing Shelves, landscaping of the library grounds, and more.

Our biggest fundraisers each year are our spring and fall book sales, along with our annual membership drive. We also operate a bookstore inside the library, which is open year-round and offers gently used books at affordable prices. We rely on generous donations of gently used books from our community to help make these efforts possible.

There are many ways to get involved. Volunteers help with book sales, the bookstore, and other Friends activities throughout the year. Whether you become a member, volunteer your time, donate books, shop at our bookstore and book sales, or simply spread the word, every bit of support makes a difference.

Thank you for supporting the Friends of Hartsville Memorial Library and the library programs that bring our community together.
